"These two words, nerd and geek, are frequently used interchangeably. However, this does a great disservice to all nerds and geeks who wear the badge of their respective anti-social lifestyle choice with pride. For this reason I feel that it is of the utmost importance that we correctly define the two terms.
Geek

A geek can best be defined as one who maintains an excessive fascination with a single thing or collection of things. I use the more general term thing only because there is a wide range of fascinations available which may qualified as geeky. Some have asserted that the object of obsession must be one that is not considered to be socially acceptable or commonly observed from the majority of inhabitants of any give society."

6 year olds performing "Scarface" for their school play...

Sometimes in life, we laugh at immature things. It's in our nature to just poke fun at people falling over, getting hurt, or just plain being ignorant.  Watching this video had me experience all 3. This had me in tears, especially at the kid friendly pile of blow (popcorn) on the table for Mr. Montana to play with.  I wonder what their parents were thinking when they signed the slips to be involved in this.  These motherfudgers got some nerve.

Our mind is a powerful weapon...

And this movie is set to examine that. Director Christopher Nolan, who is responsible for such films as Mememto, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Prestige, comes up with a brand new thriller for this summer. Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page (you know her as the star of Juno). It's funny that I'm typing this because my TV is on TNT right now and its playing an encore presentation of Titanic, haha. Whatever, I guess its divine intervention that I would discover this movie is about to come out....or maybe because there's nothing else on.

Christopher Nolan's trailers typically don't reveal much about what the film is about, it just uses great cinematography and action packed scenes. The synopsis of this movie, according to IMDB.com is

In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a single idea within one's mind can be the most dangerous weapon or the most valuable asset.

Sounds like a twisted mind game in a theatrical release. I just hope that nobody falls asleep on this thing. My mother still can't understand The Matrix even though I specifically explained it a 100 times to her in plain English. But hey, she likes Obsessed, so there goes the rationale in her tastes.

Kodak's PlaySport Zx3 pocket camcorder

This is a nice little toy that caught my eye recently. I've been told that this tiny gadget gives incredible video quality despite its frame. I might have to use this in the future because I'm very much a person that records videos more than typing.  It's about $150 and it's been recently released in stores.  Did I forget to mention that this thing is WATERPROOF??? Yeah, it's that deep.  Other devices do that, but this is considered to be the first mainstream device (esp. by a company like Kodak) to have that kind of power. One thing though, you're going to need a SD card for this because buying it itself has basically no internal memory. Here's a list of the specifications that this camcorder does.

U Street Blues...

U Street is a historically active block where I'm from, Washington DC.  This is just one of those nights where myself and my friend Queshia went to go support our mutual friend, Andrea.  She's a rapper and was having a show.  However, the show got delayed for 2 hours because a prior engagement of a jazz band showed up.  The events that followed are documented on video. Enjoy!

Frenches Fries make me happy...

Don't you love some warm, crispy, salty french fries?????

I know I do...maybe not as much as you, but...

Yeah.

Them joints is good.

There's actually a Jellyfish that never dies!!

My homie Malik-16 brought this story to my attention, which I found quite interesting.  There's actually been new scientific developments that there's a particular species of jellyfish that are known as the Turritopsis Nutricula that have the ability of immortality.  Sorry Drake, you may want things forever, but this jellyfish can actually have that. This makes it the one animal in the entire world that can repeatedly grow backwards (ala Benjamin Button) to its natural, first stage of life.  They're slowly growing to every other ocean around the world, too.

The process of this happening is called trans-differentiation.  The same way how some animals can re-grow their limbs, others can change their entire bodies.

What that means is, say like you're 45 and you're getting tired of your day to day life of going to work on time, paying bills, the nagging about your wife/girlfriend and the mistress around the corner, the IRS, the family drama, etc. and decided to hit the Reset button on the Playstation console that you call your bellybutton and woke up as an infant starting all over again??? My question is, who would take care of you at that point? 45 year old baby, haha.

I was on Total Request Live at one time...

Nah, wasn't on stage like some of my counterparts.  I definitely didn't have the clout to be on it at this time.  I remember this day because I was just wandering around NYC looking for something to eat because I was definitely slummin' on funds. I saw the line by the MTV building and figured, I'll go there and see whats up.  I like to collect an assortment of eccentric looking hoodies, and the one I had on in particular was white with a lot of funky designs on it.  The MTV people said I couldn't wear it because of the lights and the cameras, so I was freezing in that air-conditioned studio in a short sleeve t-shirt for 2 hours watching Mariah Carey and Ashanti doing interviews.  You couldn't even go to the bathroom during that thing! I don't know how these kids do it. I would've been the odd one walking across the cameras with the "I'm about to burst" face.  Luckily, some crazed fan of MC managed to snag the video of the show and put it on Youtube.  Some of my friends hit me up hours later to tell me they saw me and was dying laughing at the randomness (I do kind of stand out in this crowd, don't I?).
